DESCRIPTION
On its introduction, the Struts project radically changed the Java web development and since then a great number of Struts-based applications have been deployed worldwide. The latest is the Apache Struts 2 which is the result of a merger between the Apache Struts and OpenSymphony WebWork projects. The objective behind the development of this product was to develop an easy-to-use yet feature-rich framework Struts 2 is superior to the traditional Struts in that it has some solid features like plugin framework, JavaServer Faces integration, and XML-free configuration. The book serves as a guide for developing professional, production-ready modern web applications as it covers completely the Apache Struts 2 web application framework. Java web developers with a background in Struts 1 or WebWork would value this book greatly.
The authors of the book are Don Brown, Chad Davis and Scott Stanlick. Don Brown is a member of the Apache Software Foundation, and has been a Struts committer since 2003. Chad Davis is a J2EE developer, software consultant, and writer.
