DESCRIPTION

The Visual Studio .NET Black Book deals with .NET architecture, libraries, and services and seeks to explore the .NET architecture in a non-language specific way. It also throws light on how to use them from the programming languages supported by VS.NET. Other topics covered are the new Web and database access technologies in WebForms, WinForms, ADO.NET, and ASP.NET. Additionally, the book includes information about XML and even the SOAP protocol, which is required for passing data around components within distributed applications.

The book was co-written by Julian Templeman (London, UK) and David Vitter (Charlottesville, VA). Julian Templeman with a solid experience of 30 years in programming is currently honchoing a training and consultancy company that lays emphasis on Java, XML, Windows programming, C++, and COM/ActiveX. David Vitter was with the Air Force for 10 years where he worked as an Electronic Intelligence Analyst. Presently, he is a Technical Lead developer at Computer Sciences Corporation developing web-based solutions for NATO and DEA.
